Weekly Round up: I’ve Been Busy Edition

By eric | Sep 21, 2008

I’m a day late on the weekly round up. I’ve been doing some consulting work this week and it has been taking up a large amount of time. I’m also starting to feel slightly ill which I blame on my wife who has been sick recently. Kristin may have also contributed to my illness by talking to me over the phone on Friday while she was sick. The leading factor however, may very well be the fact that ever since hurricane IKE came through we’ve had daily averages between 60-80 degrees which is abnormal for Texas.

Pressing on, I’d like to welcome a new contributor to TMM. Louis has joined us this past week and will be writing on various topics about personal finance. I look forward to his contributions!

This week is a short weekly roundup since I’ve been spending many hours dealing with my other side business of security consulting. So without further ado:

kacperwrzesniewski.com wrote an article that caught my eye through pfbuzz titled “5 more reasons to track expenses

Grad Money Matters writes an excellent article on paper work. His article “Make paperwork work for you” discusses mastering the art of paperwork!

Money Smart Life writes about the recently Lehman Brothers and Merryl Lynch buyouts and what they mean for us.

Liberta tells us how to become financially free

Trees full of money asks the question “Do you really need a newer car”. Something we should all ask ourselves before we venture off to the car lot.

The Wisdom Journal tells us 50 Frugal things you aren’t doing… Hey their theme looks familiar!

All the recent bank failings has bought the FDIC into the front of peoples minds. Money under 30 writes an awesome article on the FDIC titled “The FDIC: What it is and why you (might) need it”

Again with an awesome article, Money under 30 writes about financial products you probably don’t need.

Broke Grad Student gives us some holiday travel tips for students!

As I said, this week was short. I actually have over 1000 unread items in my reader that I still need to clear out.
