Weekly Round Up: Lunch With Politicians Edition

By eric | Oct 25, 2008

Well I have been absent for a few weeks, with my absence came an absence in weekly round ups. I actually have not been on the computer all that much in the past two to three weeks due to my screw ups over the past year or so. Apparently I had been neglecting spending time with my family and trading that time on the computer doing work instead. At any rate I think waters are smoother but it may just be the eye of the storm.

I’ve also been spending some time reading the Republican and Democratic platforms to ensure I am fully aware of everyones positions. Today I actually had lunch with one of the state Senators and the City commissioner, The City Commissioner is actually running for congress in my district. I had some good conversation with him and got a good feel for his positions, great guy!

This week’s weekly round up is somewhat shallow, I found a few interesting article but not all that many that grabbed my attention like the following.

Bible Money Matters writes “7 Things You Shouldn’t Do In An Economic Crisis

Warren Buffet recently said he was moving 100% into stocks from bonds, 20 something finance ask’s “should you?” With their article: “Warren Buffett is Moving 100% into U.S. Stocks. Should you?

Green Panda Treehouse writes “5 Things to Do to Build Wealth in Your 20s.” A good read for all twenty somethings.

I’ve paid for this twice writes “Credit Card Debt The Next National Financial Disaster?

Use the Dollar gives us some analysis lessons with their article “The P/E Ratio - An Investors Favorite Tool

Another investing lesson from abc’s of investing “Asset Allocation Explained”

Money Under 30 gives us some tips on saving on living expenses with “How to Save Money on Your Next Apartment

Finally, the simple dollar wrote an article on a chapter in the Intelligent Investor, which I am currently re reading. “The Intelligent Investor: The Investor and Inflation

That’s it for this week, most of the articles I encountered this week were depressing since they discussed the ongoing financial market cluster F%$k to the poor house as the Daily Show calls it. Until next week! Also in case you missed it the RSS feed has changed for the site, please resubscribe!
